Year in Review with RayRay

First off - haaaaay y'all! I was so bummed that I couldn't be with you all in person, but I'm 100% with all y'all in spirit. My name's Rachel "RayRay" Ricketts and I'm a grief coach, death doula, intuitive healer and founder of loss & found - an organization helping folks minimize the pain of loss and grief from whatever life's thrown their way so they can transition into joy and live their lives in and on purpose.  I offer 1 on 1 coaching, workshops, online grief support courses and retreats to guide people through any form of life transition (which inherently involves grief) and teach them how to not only survive, but sur-thrive.

I presented at the Grace Club on Self-Love with Maggie + Gillian and I spoke about how I loved myself back to life when I went through a dark night of the soul following my mother's death. The thing about grief is that it's everywhere, all the time and yet we never talk about it. Work stress, financial struggle, loss of identity, sexism, racism, homophobia, political upheaval, death, divorce, even marriage and parenthood - it ALL involves loss.

I believe each and every one of us is walking around with unearthed grief lodged in our hearts and the only way to move through it is to actually acknowledge it's there, shower yourself with love and compassion, and seek the support you need to help you heal your own heart. That's how I loved myself back to life and it's how I help others do the same.

For me, 2017 was all about reclaiming my power. It was a massively transformative year for everyone and the collective consciousness is absolutely rising. What I'm taking away from this motherfucker of a year is that each and every one of us is undoubtedly being called into action. First and foremost, to do our inner work. To look at whatever painful shit we've been stuffing down or trying to ignore, bring it to the surface and deal so it can heal.

All the hate, violence, discrimination and other crap we're seeing is a result of people in pain refusing to do their work and a racist, patriarchal, capitalist society that perpetuates and thrives off of us being completely disconnected from one another - as well as our ability to heal ourselves and this world.

So my hope is that folks leave this year committed to their own healing for the purpose of having the mental, emotional, and spiritual capacity to truly fight against systems of power and privilege and serve those who need it most.

I'm walking into 2018 with a hell of a lot of compassion for myself + others, healthy and loving energetic boundaries and a deep commitment to see things as they truly are even and especially when it's uncomfortable. Sending mad love + light to you all for the holidays and new year!
