Events

Using accessible spaces, we facilitate online and in person events that inspire, empower and connect folx of all/no genders. Our events include speakers and storytellers, networking and support. After each gathering, we donate partial proceeds to a local initiative benefitting Vancouver’s marginalized communities.

We are striving to create a financially, socially and physically accessible environment for all. All our venues will have wheelchair accessibility, gender neutral bathrooms, and we offer sliding scale and a limited number of sponsored tickets. To offer any feedback on ways we can improve on inclusion, visit our Get Involved page.

Grace Club x Book Club

This groundbreaking book explains why women experience burnout differently than men—and provides a simple, science-based plan to help women minimize stress, manage emotions, and live a more joyful life.

Although it is geared toward women (and has a thoughtful paragraph clarifying this), it is relevant and helpful for all/no genders, as is our book club!

Honestly, I chose it as our first book to dig into because the collective trauma of our current climate is manifesting for so many of us as severe depletion, stress, overwhelm, with feelings of inadequacy and isolation ie: BURNOUT.

The topic is relevant to addressing our ability to navigate a fast-paced, patriarchal, white supremacist, industrialized society- and I believe until we understand, unlearn, and unpack this, we cannot effectively do the work to dismantle and decolonize the systems of oppression that could be challenged and disrupted. And of course, knowledge is power- and self knowledge is essential.

So, we start with self-care, and we move to community care. Our book choices going forward will reflect this process.

Please note: This is not a cool club, a women's wine fest, a place to gossip, or kill time. It's an intimate and inclusive gathering that aims to facilitate mindful thought exchange, heart centred curiosity, deep learning, and connection.

Spots are limited to allow for meaningful dialogue, and we are charging a sliding scale fee to secure spots and motivate attendance, as well as to raise funds for one of our favourite local organizations https://unya.bc.ca/
